Travel Log Day 2

We had a decent night in our Chicago hotel and awoke early to get checked in for our flight to London. We also wanted to get checked in early in an attempt to get a bassinette to use for Ben during the flight. The airport was already busy by 7 am but we were able to avoid the long check in and security lines since we were flying business class. We spent a bit of time in the Admiral's club relaxing and letting Ben crawl around before boarding. The very kind deskperson at the Admiral's club made a few calls to help us request the bassinette for Ben. Upon boarding the plane our nice flight attendant brought the bassinette to us and we were able to use it after takeoff. This contraption was an absoulute lifesaver!! Ben fell asleep shortly after takeoff and once we were airborne, he slept soundly in the bassinette for nearly two hours. The flight was very nice and we had no issues at all. Even when Ben was awake he did not fuss much. We had plenty of toys and other diversions for him. I was such a proud mama when several passengers complimented Ben after the flight! We landed in London about 11:00 pm local time and were met by a driver, Uma, who quickly and efficiently whisked us off to the flat. We met Ed and Pat at the flat and let Ben roll around for a long time. The flat is in the Knightsbridge area of town and has two bedrooms, a nice size living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. Plenty of space and much more comfortable than a hotel! The time difference is apparent to Ben, Kent and me! It was well after 3:00 am local time before Ben and I fell asleep. Ben did sleep in the travel bed we bought for him prior to the trip. Kent's cold is returning....
