Travel Log Day 3 (or is it Travel Logue in Britain?! hee hee)

I failed to mention in Day 2's post...no Jennifer Aniston sighting on the flight to London....and I forgot my camera :(

Ben and I woke up around 11:30 am local time. We are both still jetlagged! Kent was up somewhat earlier than us. Ben had a rough night sleeping and no longer likes the travel bed. He slept with me in the bed and Kent was on the couch. Actually that was just as well, with Kent's cold returning he was snoring like a freight train.

We ventured out in the early afternoon and were met with an absolutely beautiful autumn day! The temp was nearly 60 degrees and mostly sunny, beautiful! The flat is on Sloane Street and just down from our flat is a very exclusive shopping district...Armani, Versace, Jimmy Choo, Dolce & Gabbana etc. Window shopping is fun! We also visited our first pub of the trip. The food selection was not terribly exciting. Kent and Ed had traditional pub food...chili (Kent) and an ale pie (Ed). Pat and I opted for salads which were mediocre at best. However the pub staff was very friendly and accomodating. Having Ben in tow helps us receive nice service!

Next we ventured to Hyde Park (similar to Central Park). There were many people in the park enjoying the weather, playing football, lounging, reading, rollerbladding, running, etc. We walked to an area called Speaker's Corner wherein people stand on soapboxes (literally) and espouse their beliefs about religion, politics, etc. It was very interesting to say the least but it felt somewhat clausterphobic to me. Ben was asleep so Pat went by the wayside with him so the noise wouldn't bother him. We only walked about half of the park and on the way out walked through a still blooming rose garden that was lovely, even in mid October!

On our way back to the flat we strolled into Harrod's but it was very busy...I assume this was the case since it was a Sunday. I did not buy anything there but Kent and I did view the Diana and Dodi memorial in the store (Dodi's family owns Harrod's).

We had drinks and nibbles in the flat and Ben rolled around for a while. We walked to a nice pizza place (Pizza on the Park) for dinner. The food was good and Ben was mostly well-behaved in his new high chair we got for this trip (clips to the table).

Ben (again) did not sleep well and was in and out of the travel bed most of the night. I am still jetlagged...Kent seems to be adapting better than Ben and I...but his cough sounds worse.

Hey!! I was starting to get worried about you guys, since we hadn't heard from you. I knew that you were probably busy. It sounds as though you are having a good trip, relatively stress-free. Sorry to hear Ben isn't sleeping well in the pea pod. I know that can be very tiresome to you and Kent. I can't believe you didn't buy anything at Harrod's!! Also, I do expect you to go to Versace, Jimmy Choo's,and Gucci, to buy me something!! Just kidding. Glad to hear from you and tell Kent and his family hello and give Ben a big kiss and hug from Aunt Kristi

Sounds fabulous! I knew Ben would be a trooper! He is just too excited to sleep! Maybe you need a night to sleep on the couch! Let Coughy and Roly Poly sleep together:)!
